An elderly man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in North York. Police were called to the intersection of Jane Street and Maple Leaf Drive around 10 a.m. for reports someone had been struck.Paramedics transported a man via emergency run to a nearby hospital in serious condition. Police say the driver involved in the incident remained on the scene.

CHICAGO -- A fire in an apartment complex in West Chicago sent a firefighter and six other people to the hospital. The fire happened near the 800 Block of Burr Oak Circle around 1 a.m. The Fire Chief said the injuries are minor and the firefighter is being treated for exhaustion. CHICAGO — The City of Chicago is no longer considering the Amundsen Park Fieldhouse as a site to house migrants.In a rare change of plans, the mayor's office now says the park will not be used as a temporary shelter.
